What slow living actually means to me

You hear it everywhere; slow living, cozy corners, mindful moments, but what does it actually mean? For me, it clicked while I was walking my dog.

I was buried in massive spreadsheets when my dog, Lady, started pawing at my feet, asking to go out. I was so stressed, but we were in the middle of potty training, and Lady was only doing exactly what she'd been taught. So I pressed Windows + L, locked my screen, and stepped away from the desk.

After Lady finished her business, she stopped to watch the leaves falling from a tree. Seeing how content she was, I didn't want to rush her back inside to watch the world through the window instead. I decided it was finally time to explore the complex ; something I hadn't done once in the six months I'd lived here. Lady and I wandered around the pond and paused just to take in our surroundings.

45 Minutes

I was back at my desk in 45 minutes, but it completely turned my day around. That's when it hit me: I was just living slowly, and it was amazing. Ever since, I've been learning to do everyday tasks with a little more intention.
